JW Pet Cataction Fish with Feather Tail Cat Toy
Cats love the design but durability is a concern.
I used these catnip toys as a temporary distraction to help with my cats' transition to a new environment and to get them to understand that something fun can happen away from the couch (where they hang out ALL the time). While they aren't as great as the expensive interactive toys that really keep your cat's attention but they are a decent substitute for those, they are small enough to carry around and seem to be durable
The soft rubbery texture and catnip scent appeal to some cats and they cater to chewers.
The toy can keep cats entertained, especially those who love to chew.
The strong chemical smell is off-putting to many and can be overwhelming for cats. The reviews even advise taking some sort and washing them before opening them
Tip: Washing and adding fresh catnip to get rid of the smell.
The toy does not hold up well with vigorous chewers and can break apart easily.
Factors: Vigor of chewing, Frequency of use, Environmental conditions
Yes, these toys are particularly appealing to kittens who like to chew and play with toys that have a soft, rubbery texture.
The durability of these toys is questionable, with reports of them not lasting long with vigorous chewers.
"I have two cats; one of them could care less about them but the other one is a chewer of hair ties, rubber bands, rubber bracelets and other things like that and he is obsessed with them. Make sure to put them on a surface like tile or hardwood; carpets or rug wonβt have the same effect for them. ..."
"The smell of these flip chips is horrible. Two different cats in my family hate them. Catnip oil is no good."
If you're looking for a simple, inexpensive cat toy that your cat might enjoy, these could be a good option. However, be prepared for the possibility that your cat might not be interested or that the toy might not last long. I would recommend buying a set and then seeing if your cats are interested in them or not. If they are like my 6 cats they might care less. If they are kittens they might go nuts on them for a short while. Be ready to find them behind doors and in closets. They are not a great substitute for interactive toys
