Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Kitty-friendly (3)

My kitty loves the scratching posts at the bottom, upper levels and the lounge cushion is great. He has spent many hours per day just lying on the cushion, scratches the posts at different times and thoroughly enjoys being on the climber.

  • Well-constructed (2)

    Easy to assemble

  • Attractive (2)

the color and design are great and looks really good in my room and the cats can't get enough of the scratching posts.

Cons

  • Stability Issues (2) major

The cat tree can tip over with heavier cats

Tip: Place a weight on the bottom to stabilize it or position it in a corner

  • Lack of Ledge on Top Shelf (1) minor

No side walls or ledges along the top shelf, increasing risk of injury and losing interest

  • Visible Screws (1) minor

Screws are not flush with the board, which can be bothersome for some cats

  • Heavy cats are uncomfortable (1) major

The Cat Tree gets unstable with heavier cats. And sometimes is a tricky playing field for jumpy cats.

Tip: Cat fence would be best to avoid any falling

Who Is This For?

Best For

  • Light or medium-size cats — Well-built, stable base and soft carpeting makes it enjoyable for lighter cats
  • Pet owners looking for good value — Solid construction at a reasonable price point

Skip If

  • Owners of heavier cats, or needing stability — Heavy cats cause it to tip, so use is advised with caution, adding weights, or better to use Cat fence for safety or fixing it around the home.
  • Owners of jumpy or playful cats — Cat comfort will strictly live in the lower levels after some time, no side walls on top level.

Highlighted Reviews

— Casey

"Great quality climber. She loves the scratchers at the bottom. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. Fits well in the room. Big hit with both kitties. Love that it matches my other climbers."

— ToeBean

"This is a good little cat tree and the dimensions are as advertised, but there are a few issues. First, if your kittens are big and energetic, they may not be able to use all of the levels. The biggest issues are that the top 'ledge' has no side walls, which makes it pretty dicey for a cat's balance..."

Bottom Line

For lighter cats, this is a good, easy-to-assemble and sturdy cat tree. However, heavier cats may pose a risk without additional stabilization.
